I just started Sarah Addison Allen's 4th book The Peach Keeper
Like the first three it has a good story with a little mystical edge to it.

I'm reading "A Discovery of Witches" by Deborah Harkness and am really enjoying it...a story (not unlike the Twilight series by Meyer, only more geared for adults )of witches, demons, vampires, history, magic, and love.

I'm reading Mary Chesnut's Civil War Diary. I love books about the Civil War. My husband says it's because I'm a natural-born rebel.
Bunkie, you could write a gardening book--what are you doing reading one?

I finished The Peach Keeper the other day. It was okay but I liked Garden Spells much better.

Kasey, I finished that book a few weeks ago and loved it. Now we have until sometime next year before #2 is released.

Well, winter is upon us once again and this is when I can really bury my nose into books.
I just read night road by Kristin Hannah, Heartwood by Belva Plain, and Live Wire by Harlan Coben.
I also received a Kindle Fire for Christmas, and have read 3 books so far by Terri Reid about a ex- cop that sees ghosts and they help solve murders. They are on the "light" side of murder mysteries.

I have started reading Buddha Standard Time by Surya Das. Living in the NOW, not the past or future. Very interesting, if not a little daunting read. I will probably read it a second time to make pick up on things I missed the first time through.

Im reading Dragon Keeper- Vol 1 of the Rain Wilds Chronicles by Robin Hobb. Interesting book.
The summary is a bit long to include here, so if anyone is interested, you can just Google the title.

Am reading "Of Parrots and People" by Mira Tweti. I'm a bird person, but even if you're not it is an important eye-opener about the loss of bird habitats (especially the rainforests) & the cruelty of bird smuggling. It also tells of a wonderful man, Charles Munn, who has big $$$ and is using his wealth to buy thousands of acres in South America & turning them into bird sanctuaries that offer eco-tours.He has found a way to convince poverty-stricken bird smugglers not to continue smuggling.... he hires them to work in his sanctuaries for more money than they make smuggling! Great read!
