I am thinking next year to just buy some bags of compost and use them as the container and soil, all in one kind of thing. I know some people on here have used the bags of soil as containers for veggies.
Will using only compost be ok? Or should I go for the potting mix stuff?
I figure I could re-compost the used compost at the end of the season, right?

I would maybe use composted soil, but I would add some potting soil from Miracle grow with moisture crystals. That way your soil would stay moister longer. Instead of buying composted soil, why not make your own? It's not too hard to do and it makes for great soil.

I think that kratz hads good ideas here...namely to mix the compost with some sorrt of garden soil or something like that.
Also composting some of your garden waste is an excellent idea. I do not know anyone here that does not do that, actually now that I think about it.
