I have a saw palm in my living room. It has a bad case of scale. How would you remove it? I put it outdoors and sprayed hard with the hose; then I cut off the most infected leaves. After a week the scale was still there.

Once I was told to remove the scale with a q tip dipped in alchohol. If this doesn't work I may have to throw out the plant (which I love) lest the scale get into my husband's orchids.

Suggestions? Thanks.

I use Alcohol and it seems to work IF you are very thorough.
I remember once someone told me they used a nicotine spray and it worked. I'm not sure of the recipe, but maybe you could google it and find one.
