The other day, before the rain, we were in WalMart. I picked up some Petunias to edge the circle garden. We stopped to look at the pots of herbs and I bought some lemon balm. I really like the smell of it. The pot was sitting in a small box with other plants and the edge of the porch was getting some rain blowing in so I begin sitting the pots along the edge to catch some of the rain. Chance was running up and down the porch and she stopped and started smelling each of the plants. Petunias, geraniums, rosemary, basil, and then she came to the lemon balm. She sniffed it and before you could say boo she took a bite of it. I had to scramble to rescue it. I guess it won't go in a pot on the porch. It will have to go in a flower bed, herb bed (which I haven't made yet) or in a pot under a tree but not on the porch for a dog to help herself to a bite or the whole thing. Who would have thought a dog would like lemon balm? She loves rosemary, too.

Smart dog, let some steep in a jar of water then pour the water into her bowl she might like the taste.
Rambo used to eat Coreopsis, I was always find him with his head deep inside the large bush by the path just munching away.

I have a lemon balm in my garden but have to be careful to cut right back each year as it can be very invasive. The scent of the leaves is lovely though and I wouldn't be without it. Chance obviously has good taste!!

I can't blame Chance...I love it too!
My Shepherd used to eat my Lungwort, I never understood that.

That is so funny. She smelled all of them and finally found the prize. Guess she wondered why she couldn't have it! Poor baby!
