Sjoerd
I just stumbled on your demo on runners. Too bad there isn't a place for demos on the GardenStew site. (if there is please tell me where) This is a great piece, and I would love finding your other "how-tos". There is so many great ideas, and so little time to search them all out.
Thanks for the effort you put into this piece.

Ditto - what Droopy and Glendann said - I totally agree.
I always find myself wandering off to your website and viewing and dreaming and admiring. You sure have a lot of material to write many books.

yes sjoerd, i use it like a dibber, the narrow end, to make holes. will try and get a photo some time soon. the thing is pretty worn out, as it was old when i found it, and been used a lot by me!

I love your illustrations, Sjoerd. How long before you have beans?

Your tutorial is so easy to follow and I agree with the others here. You should write a book.
I am another fan of growing Scarlet Runner Beans. They are the only beans we eat at our house. I also love the wall of greenery up on our lattice fence. The hummingbirds love the red flowers too.

You very nice person, you!
It's good to know there's another Runner-eater on here...there aren't many.
There are so many runner bean types aren't there. I have tried several and I personally like the sunset best (for taste and flower colour).
One of these days, I'm going to cover a flower garden arch with them just because I like the flowers so much--of course I shall harvest the beans as well...heh heh heh.
Perhaps I prefer the flower garden to the veggie garden, but I ain't crazy.
p.s. I wish we got hummers here too. That would be REALLY nice.
