Eileen, I can't believe it, Toby got out of his cage today and Busby was so gentle with him. It was wonderful to see, being a Flatcoat he just wants to lick him but Toby is not too keen on that so does spit a little but Busby does not react to it, bless him. I didn't think we would get to this stage so soon.
Here are a couple more photos of him. We did not have a toy so I rolled up a piece of paper and as you can see he loves playing with it. We went out today and bought him a scratching post and a couple of toys.

I'm so pleased for you Gardengirl. Very Happy Toby will soon get used to Busby I'm sure and they'll end up the best of friends. Isn't it funny how youngsters of any species seem to like playing with screwed up paper or cardboard boxes? I think that second photograph is so cute. Stew Face 1

I had a feeling that would happen, esp with Busby being used to kitties. Toby is soooooo cute! He looks to have kind of ... big feet -- I wonder if he will be a big old boy when he's grown?! I just can't get enough of Toby.

At the risk of boring you all I just had post a few more pics of Toby. We have only had him just over a week now and he has really settled in

Here he is sleeping with Busby, who would have thought we would get to this stage in such a short time. Busby must seem HUGE to him.

Toby has discovered my knitting. The photos are a little dark as for some reason I think the flash was turned off on my camera but I did not like to delete them as moments like this may not come along too often so I messed about with them a bit on my computer.

Not bored at all with this little angel-kitty! He is just so cute. Busby doesn't just SEEM huge -- he IS huge next to the baby Toby. Busby has a beautiful coat, so shiny! I'd love to see his face! The knitting pics are adorable. Oh boy... the kitten phase is fun.

What a cute little fellow, GardenGirl.
It sounds like Eileen has given some good advice there.

Wishing you good luck with that red youngster.

Here is the best 'full frontal' (if you'll pardon the expression Laughing ) photo of Busby. It was taken a couple of years ago. He is a very energetic Flatcoated Retriever and still wants everyone to play with him even though he will be 10 years old in October.
