OK, my SIL's Christmas present is made and a couple for myself and another friend. Thought I'd show off the four wreaths that I made. Working out the kinks in my directions as I went through the process of making these.
The only real changes were that I tied the moss on as I went as the pieces of moss got smaller, and I put on the hanger after the moss was attached and prior to putting the plants into the wreath.
I got four wreaths out of the sack of moss I bought. Here's the pics:
1st Wreath remade 3 times - like the blue/green sedums in this one ( photo / image / picture from Jewell2009's Garden )
Primarily Sedum spurium “tricolor" and "red carpet" ( photo / image / picture from Jewell2009's Garden )
Has a lot of Sedum pluricaule ezawe 'compact' ( photo / image / picture from Jewell2009's Garden )
Very fat wreath ( photo / image / picture from Jewell2009's Garden )

Amazing! Glad I don't have to choose just one as a favorite. They will make lovely gifts. I know I would be thrilled to receive one!

Thanks for the kind words. We are getting together after work and each making one. I think I am pretty much wreathed-out though.  I think I will just lend a hand where needed and bring the instructions  .

I have discovered "florist greening pins" make attaching plant starts really quick and efficient when putting together your wreath.
With the down turn in the economy many local nurseries are having some really good deals. Help support them and you will get some nice mature plants. Here are some really full to over flowing pots of hens-and-chicks that I am breaking down for wreaths.

The hen and chicks are really healthy looking. They'll be great in yor wreaths.
I have only one hen and chick that I planted for the first time last year and I have a question, if you don't mind -- not necessarily related to making a wreath.
How do you split the H&C into smaller plants? How much root does a plantlet need to survive? And do you do anything specific to help the plantlets along?

No they arent hard to care for . I actually grow mine is stoney type soil an they love it .
