I made a bird feeder out of plywood for my daughter.My wife painted it white and we are going to let our 20 month old daughter paint it. My question is does anyone know what kind of paint,crayon or marker would be good for the hot sun and rainy weather of Florida. We are going to keep it for the years to come so she can see what she did and we don't want it to get completely messed up while in use. As soon as it is done I will put up pics of our little family project. Next I am thinking of making a bird bath but that might be a bit.

What a cute idea.
I know up here in Ontario, i used to do alot of painting, and to protect my work from wind, rain, sun and snow, i would coat it afterwards with Varathane or Urethane, and it held up well and protected the wood.

I used indoor/outdoor acrylic paint and then sprayed the finished item with clear acrylic sealer. You can find the spray at craft/hobby stores and it works very well. I have seen paint pens in WalMart that your daughter could probably handle very easily.
