Impatiens growing inside air condtioner unit ( photo / image / picture from gfreiherr's Garden )

I was cleaning up some flower beds on the neglected side of the house near the air conditioner and spotted a flash of color. When I look in the casing of the A/C unit, I saw about 50 volunteer impatiens beginning to bloom. I guess they found a place to winter over, not a place I want a cold frame.

If you have a photo of a plant growing in an odd place, feel free to post it here.

Wow! That is one funny spot for volunteers! I guess you didn't use your air conditioning much this year? LOL

It always amazes me where plants find to root themselves. Your impatiens seem to like the spot they've chosen and, I have to admit, they look rather pretty there. Very Happy

I had to chuckle. Volunteer plants show themselves in the funniest locations sometimes, don't they? We've had wheat growing out of a hole in a stone. We left it there, since it was green and pretty and seemed to get enough moisture with all the rain we had since July. We've harvested the wheat now.

What a treat!
We had a mallow growing in a crack in the sidewalk by the street this summer. There were half a dozen flowers on a plant that was barely 5 inches tall. When I went out to take a picture of it, someone had run over it with a bike or stepped on it. It is still growing but not enough blooms to make it picture worthy.
