|
I am currently visiting Mexico (been living in FL the last 13 years) and I bought this beautiful purple flower yesterday for 40 pesos. It's about 18" tall already and loaded with buds.
After searching through bazillions of photos and not finding it, I found your Garden Stew forum and figured here I will definitely find my answer because I've seen some pretty savvy member posts already.
Thanks a million to whomever can identify my newest 'baby' so that I can go research her proper care & maintenance.

I think your plant is a Tibouchina urvilleana Glory bush
Another member posted a photo of a similar flower the other day, Tibouchina granulosa and that sent me on a hunt for the same plant/different variety to find yours.

Funny that two people were looking for an ID on Tibouchina. It is hard to beat that purple.
Welcome to the Stew, flowerlover
