Birdbath with shells ( photo / image / picture from drissel122's Garden )

Finished birdbath ( photo / image / picture from drissel122's Garden )

I made use of some moon snail seashells, an old, leaky birdbath, moss and a yard sale resin gargoyle to create an interesting piece of garden art to set in my ivy patch.

Very clever. I have that Gargoyle and two others from that set.

I have an old white plastic birdbath from Dollar General that doesn't hold water, guess I should plant in it.

Thanks Droopy and Toni, I was really happy with the way it all turned out. My husband always asks me what I am going to do with all the shells I pick up, and finally I was able to use a few.

You made a wonderful ivy bed.I wouldn't have thought of that at all. Only 25 cents .What a deal.

What a agreat way to utilise an old bird bath Drissel. The shells look lovely against the green of the moss and the gargoyle makes it into the perfect piece of art for your ivy bed. Well done.

Thanks Glendann and Eileen, So far the squirrels and chipmunks have left it alone. I have tried other plantings in the birdbath and they have ripped them out. Crying or Very sad , but I think the slight scent of the sea on the shells, the scary gargoyle face, or perhaps the Vick's Vaporub I have swabbed onto the back of the gargoyle. Very Happy Something is keeping them away. I'm happy!
