I never intended having a cat,nor ever imagined i would say i had several cats, but one day while hunting in the woods i met a small ginger kitten,i made the mistake of talking to it,and yes it followed me home,at that time i lived on part of a Victorian Estate,i named her Ginger, and she turned out to be an amazing cat,no matter where i was on the Estate she would find me,jump up on my shoulder and be quite content to stay there.

There's an old saying that we choose our dogs but that cats choose us. Ginger must have known that you were the right choice for her. What a handsome pair Springer and Ginger make. Stew Face 1

Bagpuss, another offspring of Ginger,he was a very serious Tom,always looked as if he failed to catch a mouse.

Then there was Atom,a female,abandoned by its mother,so i took her in,a small cat,but a fast mover.

Hi Eileen,
i have heard that saying, and i well believe it,if a cat doesn't like you,or is not pleased with its surroundings,it leaves home, would you believe i am not really a rug rat person, but the rug rats think otherwise, after all these years i hate to tell them the truth.

Your cats are very pretty. I've always wanted a ginger cat, but so far I've only been adopted by black-and-white ones.

Plain? Not plain at all, but very petty. I love the very pink nose.

The name Plain came about because up to her being born all my cats and kittens were Gingers,in my head i was thinking,"its as plain as black and white",she has kittens at least twice a year,i mostly find homes for them, but there was a disaster this year, somebody poisoned all my cats and kittens, including the strays i was feeding,i happened to be in America at the time, when i came home there were dead cats all over the garden, and in the shed,Plain was the only survivor, since then she has had two litters of black and white kittens.

Awww Surprised I was not a cat person either. However, I have become the crazy cat lady Laughing I have one old mama cat that lives at work in my office and one young cat that lives here at home. I have also "adopted" 3 strays that were abandoned in our neighborhood. Our neighbor has 4 cats that seem to really like my yard Surprised When we go out to feed we normally have 7 or 8 and not a one of them belong to us Rolling Eyes I love your ginger ones. I have always wanted an orange cat but one hasn't found me yet Wink I hope Plain is ok Sad

Hi Stratsmom,
i do believe cats and dogs for that matter sense the people who will be good to them, and as so many in this thread have said, cats adopt us,its plain to see they have sussed you out,one in work and 3 strays at home, now that reminds me of someone, Rolling Eyes ,look what happened to me, Laughing .

I posted this picture before in the thread,"The Garden and Beyond, but its appropriate here, this litter of kittens changed my opinion of cats, all the kittens were exceptional, claws never shown, clean in the house, and they always remained in a group,i hated giving them away though i did keep two,"Ginger Ale" and "Ginger Beer".
