well maybe i spoke too soon im having problems with my koi tearing up the plants so i brought this one up to check on it. the tip of the base was sticking up out of the gravel. it looks like maybe its forming a rhizome. it was only about the size of a peanut m&m but it was hard and lumpy.

Sorry Chubby... I don't remember a thing about the roots. Check with the folks at the website I sent you. They were so helpful to me... perhaps they'd figure this out for you?
