Does anyone use the ultrasonic outdoor bark control device for nuisance barking? I was wondering if so, is it effective and how long did it take to "train" your dog(s) not to bark?

Yup that can be annoying to have a barking neighbor dog. My son had used the electric collars on his two large dogs to teach them not to bark at the neighbors when they were outside in the backyard with the dogs. He didn't have to use it to often and they caught on real fast. When mom and dad are out in the yard with you, you don't need to bark. We have one 3 lots away from us. That dog barks just to hear it self bark. The owners just let her carry on so I guess it's their fault not the dogs. Maybe there's something I could use on them. No just kidding I think. Confused

Philip we will have to check that out. Our little dog tootsie likes to bark at the dogs and cats she see's on the TV commercials. She even knows the songs or lead in's that come before the animals show up on the screen. So as soon as she hears that she if off and barking at the TV. Can be pretty annoying. Even if we mute the TV during the commercials and she see's the dog or cat she runs up to the TV and barks like a nut. She knows the difference between a dog and a horse or cow. She never barks at them. She is way to smart for her own good. But I am going to check at some stores when I go into town today. Thanks for the great tip. Wink

We got a new dog about a month ago. He's settling in and as soon as the cool weather hit......OH MY!!!he started barking and whining for hours. I don't want to cause a neighborhood issue with him and his bark, so I was hoping others here had the same opinion that a neighbor down the road had. So thanks for the input. We put it out last night hoping for IMMEDIATE results, but the booklet said it could take up to two weeks Shocked This morning I don't notice the annoyance(barking, not the dog) nearly as much, but it could also be the weather, it is wet here this morning and he is staying inside his house. So I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

I have a collar that you put on your dog's neck and if he barks too much you get zapped.(shocked) It works ... It is from Petsafe. I don't put it on daily because he doesn't bark all the time. When he starts to bark when he is outside I make sure I put it on him ...

I would love to buy my neighbors dog one...he barks all the time at me when they leave him in the kennel. Of course he doesn't bark when they are home..I love dogs, but not ones that bark all the time.

Most people around here call the police and report barking dogs. You pay a fine and you better make sure they have a dog license or you pay more.
