I posted this first picture below someplace else in the forum as a view from my front room looking out to the garden,..the plants are all hanging on very thin strong wire,..from the curtain rail,..which is thicker than a broom handle and hanging from it are short pieces of a wire coat hanger bent at both ends in a small half loop,..one end looped over the curtain rail the other has the wire holding the plant container.

This last plant is in fact an outdoor plant which can be grown indoors and produces a plant in shape nothing like its outdoor companions,..its Sempervivum tectorum,'Hens and Chicks.

That is a cute little corner to cheer anyone up on a dull day, they look like they love it there too.

Hi Chocolate,
it gets quite warm in that area and it feels like the garden has extended into the house,..i imagine i would like to live in a huge glass house, Rolling Eyes ,..one more hanging plant in the front hall.

They all sure look healthy and happy. I like the brass containers. They add a certain "warmth"

Hi Cheryl,
there are five of those containers,..the two big ones are probably copper,..very solid,..they were all being cast away in the Victorian Estate,..no use for them i was told so i quickly claimed them.

I would have claimed them too! I have one similar to one of yours. I'll have to see if I have photos of it when I get home.

Philip, This is great, I too, would like to live in a glass house. I love the sunshine and heat, especially during the winter months.

The copper containers were a terrific catch, good for you.

Hi Cheryl,
as i was posting i did think that you were always lucky coming across items that someone else didn't want but that you could make great use of.
=====================================================

Hi Carolyn,
this is the size of glasshouse i had in mind,..even bigger perhaps,..similar to the Eden Project in England.

National Botanic Gardens,Glasnevin,Dublin. ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden )

Hi Theodoros,
welcome to the forum,..i wasn't around when you signed up,..hope you are finding it interesting.

The people who discarded those flower containers also threw out the metal ends of a garden seat,..because the wood had rotted,..it was easier for them to purchase a new seat than replace the wood,..again i claimed the seat ends,..i had an old wooden boat at home,..it did a perfect job.

Philip... here is the copper pot I mentioned.
I don't even remember where it came from. It sat for a couple years with some other junk.
One day Hubby decided to see if it would clean up nicely. And it did!

Nice glass house there Philip. although a little bit out of my price range, I think. And maybe too much floor to clean up daily....

Cheryl that pot really cleaned up into something with beauty,..they don't look much when dull,..until you lift one up and realize just what it is,..yours is very much like one of my big pots,..its a pot to keep.

=====================================================

Carolyn you and Cheryl posted around the same time,..now if you thought the Botanical Gardens glasshouse was big,..take a look at some in the Eden Project.
