We found this at an antique show last weekend. I am a sucker for any kind of rocking chair and then add the wicker factor and I couldn't pass it up. It needs very little repair which my husband can do and then I will paint it a dark green to match our shutters. Then it will sit on the front porch for my rocking pleasure.

That's Hard Hat investigating the bottom of the chair.

The antiue dealer said she had another that matched this one but was in bad condition. She is supposed to get back with us regarding it. My husband is good at repairing wicker so hope we can get the second one and have a matched set.

WOW! That's a really special piece, Polly!
I love the beautiful weave in the backrest.
I hope that you can get the match for it. Smile Fingers crossed.

I really hope that the antique dealer does get back to you Polly as a pair of chairs like that would look really wonderful together. Very Happy

I was just telling someone the other day that I've always wanted to have a rocking chair. And now I am teased by this splendid example Smile Great find Polly!

Oh Polly that is wonderful. I am jealous Laughing
How old do you think it is? It is in great shape. Don't you just want to sit back and relax, rock a while? I sure hope the dealer gets back to you about the other one. You are fortunate that your husband can work on wicker. I think that is kind of a lost art.

I was out visiting my sister last year and her neighbor had chairs similar to that I remember thinking how perfect they were for a front porch! Good find!

You are right - that one needs some major work. Be sue and post a pic of the repaired chair.
