This has been quite easy so far. I won't brag too much as this is only the second day. I will tell you I have no cravings yet and actually have taken a puff of hubby's cig and it taste extrememly bitter. It does not bother me at all to be around someone smoking.
I really think if I had not taken the time to get my mind set it would not have been this easy. But I don't even give the real credit to that. The real thanks goes to my praying friends, thank you all very much. Without everyones support here I would not be doing this. You all have helped me see so much with all of the different views and oppinions

Good to hear you are still excited about stopping.
You will find that the more days you put between you and your last cig, the more rancid they will taste if you should take a puff again. And when you really start feeling the affects of not smoking (higher energy level, foods will taste better, you will notice all sorts of aromas that you couldn't smell before too), you will find it easy to remind yourself how you used to feel and how you do not want to go back.
The biggest surprise for me was the almost sudden end to my 2-3 POTS of coffee drinking habit. I never drank decaf but the caffeine withdrawal was non-existent. My obsession with coffee must have been part of my smoking.
Do not be surprised if in a few days you start getting really edgy and wishing you could sneak away for a smoke. It is typical for most who stop but that too shall pass.

You're doing really well and I just know that it'll soon be two weeks smoke free instead of two days. Try putting the money that you would have spent on each packet of ciggies into a jar and before you know it you'll have a nice little nest-egg to treat yourself with.

Well another day has almost gone by and I am still doing great. Still no cravings. I have some patches and I will use them if and when I feel like I need it. I am greatful to have somehwere to report to and get encouragement from.

We should ask Frank if there's any way to set up a day counter so that we can all tick off the days with you. Don't know how easy it would be to put into action though.

Wow, thank you all so much! It is spectacular to have such a supportive group of people. What a blessing!
It was a rough weekend. I get what you're saying, DF, about having them at your disposal... I'll be honest and tell you that I literally dug through the ashtray in my truck looking for a few drags! Funny thing was, as soon as I found one and lit it, I wanted to put it right out. I was more upset about not having them than anything. I even carried an empty pack around and it made me feel a lot better. lol
It will probably take a few weeks before I'm done climbing up the walls, but I'm stoked. Thanks again everyone!
