Hi guys, I have noticed some interesting things on some of my live oaks. They were planted 7 months ago and are about 6-8 ft tall. Some of the branches have holes all over that look like pin pricks and also some round growths. I have cut a few of these off to inspect and they are just like regular branch growth, just balled.

Any ideas on what this is, and if I need to do something.

thanks,
gus

The round growths sound like a type of galls, the pin hole could be some insect. I did find this on line:
