The tree is Magnolia (I think). Here it is locally known as "Din ka Raja" in the Urdu language, which means: King (or Crown Prince) during the day.
This tree is usually planted next to a Cestrum Nocturnum shrub. Which is locally called "Raat ki Rani", which means: Queen of the night.
Now exactly what is the myth (or the reason) behind these names, and why are these 2 plants always planted together - Is unknown to me...
I however like to spend time under the cover of my Neem tree instead (as I am actually paranoid during both the day and night)!
