I wish I could have packed some sunshine and temperatures in my suitcase. We had to leave it all behind in Rhodes, and I don't like it. Anyways, we've had two lovely weeks of sun, sea, sightseeing and super food so I guess I shan't complain too much.

And we've got the memories. This is Rhodes town:

A trip to Monte Smith is mandatory. We do it every time we visit Rhodes and we never tire of it:

As for the food, well, we've got photos! *lol* My family always criticize me for photographing the food, but how can I resist? It looks too tempting not to:

Now I'm hoping for some nice weather so we can enjoy our garden for the rest of the summer. If last year's anything to go by the frost might start in mid-October. Until then I'll either dig, weed, dead-head or stay inside, look at the rain and wish that I could garden without getting soaked. *lol*

What lovely places you visited on your holiday Droopy. I particularly like the shots of Mandraki with its wonderful architecture. Ian (typical man) enjoyed the shots of all that delicious food. What is it with men and food???

Those wildflowers seem rather strange to me and I'd like to see them for myself one day. I really enjoy looking for the different wildlife and plants that you find in other countries.

I hope you get the sunshine you want now you;re back home again.

Wonderful photos. We had one day in Rhodes when we were on a Med. cruise so we did not get to see all the sights. Hope you have returned to good weather so you can enjoy your garden.

I really enjoyed this little jaunt with you Droopy! Quite interested in Mandraki -- love harbor towns. I always photograph food too and that fish plate... oh my... Seeing the flowers is a treat too. Thank you Droopy!

Eileen, in this house I'm the one who love food photos.

gfreiherr, did you get to see a bit of the old town, or did you go on a bus tour? Rhodes town isn't very big but there's lots to see. Greece has so much history.

KK Ng - it's a cat, all by it's lonesome in the middle of the road. I admit it isn't easy to see.

Super pic's. I love seeing all that history. I'll take two of the desserts please. I am so glad that in Europe they preserve a lot of their historic places. Here in the US they think that 200yrs old is old. Over there it's centuries old. How neat. We had a chance to visit Germany and Czech republic several years ago. What some absolutely beautiful places we saw. Thank you for taking us on a site seeing tour.

Oh dear me, Droopy---These fotos really take me back. I enjoyed Rodos so much....the plants, the food the city walls and gates, the Templer's hall, Mandraki Harbour where the World Wonder, the great Colossus is reported to have once stood....the narrow streets of the old city. Magic, pure magic.
