Apple Butter Making Time in the Mountains

Category: The Daytime of Life | Posted: Sat Oct 17, 2009 3:16 pm

My Grandsons help make apple butter. ( photo / image / picture from SongofJoy57's Garden )

A few weeks ago we took the grandsons to Boone, NC to the annual apple festival. It was a beautiful day for it, and the air was fragrant with the smells of cooking apple butter, and kettle corn.

I've just been to the Botanical Gardens in Edinburgh where there was a display of different types of apples. The smell of them was lovely so I can just imagine what that apple butter smelt like - heavenly!!

My daughter went to Lover's Leap and to Mabry's Mill where they were making apple butter this past weekend. It is so yummy! She has a wonderful recipe that she uses.
