Japanese Doll bought from a Garage Sale Today

Category: Off Topic | Posted: Sat Jun 18, 2011 7:40 pm

The story is the doll came from Japan from a parent that served in the military. I don't have any more information than that. Anyone know much about these dolls?

I bought this doll for my daughter, and she doesn't want me opening the case. :| I'll talk her into it at some point, as I need a closer look! lol.

I think it has glass eyes the way they shined with the camera flash. Maybe some kind of porcelain for the face?, the hands and feet I am not sure. The fingernails are painted in a clear coat of some kind.

She'll be curious and let me open it up soon, then I can look for markings, etc. too. The black edging on the case is made of bakelite.
