That's what I've enjoyed today. I had to rub my eyes when I spotted these lilies-of-the-valley today, and a blueberry flower too:
A carpet of little veronica of some kind:
We went for a ride in the lovely weather. Here's from the top of the mountain road:
My very best riding partner and her horse. We're both grandmas and like to take it easy:
The tractor road is where the small trees are. Just look at the green grass. This is the cow farmers' summer pasture:
I forgot to take photos going up and further down. We were too busy galloping and chatting. Sorry.

Oh how I envy you your horse riding Droopy. I used to do so much riding when I was younger but, sadly, arthritis now stops me enjoying myself.  You have some lovely countryside around you and Toni is going to love those mountains.

Thank you. I spotted more flowers but we had an incident with a biker just then, so I'll have to go back for those.
Eileen, we really like it up there. It's peaceful now before the cows are herded up and the tractor traffic starts. The horses are eager to get there too. We let them nibble a bit occasionally.

Droopy, what I wouldn't give to be there riding with you. I love to ride, but no longer can, because of my back surgeries and all the hardware in my back. That would really do me in! But your pictures are lovely and beautiful scenery.

Beautiful pictures, Droopy! It looks like a great place to ride. The lilies of the valley haven't started to peek out here yet, but I saw my first sprout of asparagus in my garden today (it's up about an inch). It's great to see everything nice and green and clean again.

Love seeing your scenery. Your lilly-of-the-valley in blossom-Mine-I was digging some up that weren't in bloom yet. I was moving them around and plan on giving some away. Its been a long time since I rode a horse, looks like you had a great time. Thanks for posting.

We don't have lily of the valley here and when we lived in Wisconsin they were one of my favorite flowers. I saw a lily of the valley bush the other day. I wonder if the flowers would smell the same. But, I'm not buying plants until we come back from Glenda's. I love your mountains, too. Ours are dry and scrubby. dooley

Thank you all. Yesterday was a lovely day for both riding and flower spotting.  There is still snow up there and the rest of the trail is closed because of thawing. We like pack some food and stay out for hours later in the season.

Droopy that is beautiful land down there. I keep checking for blueberry flowers but not yet, and i keep checking for angelica to make candy. My rhubarb has broke thru and is looking great. We got all kind of growth up here now, trees, flowers, mostly wild ones. So if your blooming down there it won't be long up here. Thanks for the encouragement!

Thanks Biita, we like it too. My only worry now is a sudden drop in temperature. We've had snow on May 17th before.

OMG what beautiful mountains. The first picture (#4 in order) looks like they are floating in the water and the last one is beautifully framed with the tall pine tree in front.
Can I make a copy of them?
