Hello. I live in Illinois, pretty much equally between Chicago and St.Louis. I tend to have a black thumb and can kill just about anything so I thought I'd join a forum for tips from time to time to help keep my plants and flowers alive that would otherwise face certain death!
I like to plant in containers to keep it simple. I'm guessing my issues lie with watering or perhaps choosing the right type of plants for the type of lighting conditions I have. I'm slowly learning and teaching myself though...
This year I bought hanging red/white Million Bells and have a few small containers of those also. I have 2 large containers with red petunias, ivy, a tall grass, and some yellow Mums.
I work Part time as a nurse. Have 2 small children both still in diapers. UGH!

Tracy, welcome to the stew from So. ME. What a great bunch you've decided to join. Up until a couple years ago I had a black thumb as well. It's now a light shade of green and some of that has been since I joined the stew. Lots of great ideas and tips here. Hop on in and enjoy!
