I found this plant growing in a boggy area off of a walking trail. It was growing in full sun with just a inch of water above the soil line. Of course I had to snag a few : ) It has a Columbine type foliage at the base and some small oval green 'somethings' at the top near the little yellow flowers.

The roots are shallow and dont seem to be runners. I'm sure it's a weed but was hoping someone could tell me what it is. I'm not finding it in the normal pond plant sites.

Zone 5.

Thanks..Joann

It looks like some kind of ranunculus to me, and I found a photo of one that resembles it here, take a look: Ranunculus sceleratus or cursed crowfoot.

Droopy..you're awesome! That's it and that's how they were growing, which is why I felt like I could help myself to a few. I'll read up on them. Thankyou!
