This has been growing for a few years, but this is the first time I have seen the thick center stalk. What is it? Thanks!

It looks like a Kniphofia, common name Red-Hot Poker or Torch Lily.

Thank you soooo much. I did plant some of those years ago but they never came up, then suddenly this one did, and by then I had no idea what it was, since I had replanted a lot of other things since then. Laughing
