The first foto was taken 12 May: (just shown again for comparison.

The second foto was made 21 may. You can see the mother in there. They should be leaving the nesting box any day now.

So cute and they sure have grown fast. Just like kids... you turn your head and they are grown and 'out of the nest'! Laughing

Oh, my! That's some difference in just a few days. They're a credit to their parents. Very Happy

Ohh geez they do look better with feathers. The bald look was not their style at all! lol. I think mama did a very good job with her babies.

I agree about their looks and the job that mum has done. The parents flew incessantly back and forth feeding the, I'll bet that they will have flown by the time I get there thisd morning.
I'll immediately clean the box out and perhaps they will have a second brood this summer.

They do grow up so quickly.

There was a nest of Cardinals outside our bedroom window a few years ago that I would check on every day and then it seemed like in no time at all the nest was empty. We do have several Cardinals in the yard now so there was a happy ending for all of us. Stew Face 1

Well, they haven't fledged yet (as of 14:35 my time).
Maybe tomorrow, then. I saw the magpie waiting on the train lines above the nesting box, so I feaqr the worst for them. If i was there I could at least give them a safe first couple of hours.

Wrennie...they are the 'Great Tit'. The smaller Blue Tits are nesting in that birdhouse made out of a sawn-in-half wooden shoe.

They still had not fledged by the time I went home this evening. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

That's a pretty neat setup for viewing. I hope your birds make it out into the world O.K. We have a lot of bluejays around here that are nasty like magpies. It's a tough world for babies at this time of year.
