It is never when we go to buy a specific thing that we buy it. It's always when we go to buy something else. Yesterday, we went to look at trees and bought pansies. Today, we went to buy peelers (round rough fence posts.) Did we come home with peelers? NO! We came home with apple trees. We bought two Newton Pippens. I was reading here and there about Newton Pippens. These were the first apple trees to be exported from the United States to England. It happened in the late 1700's when some seed were sent to Benjamin Franklin when he was a diplomat in England. They are orginally a New York apple. They are a greenish-yellow apple. Tart, not sweet. Late blooming, late ripening. They ripen in late October or early November. Dooley
