I bought 3 Coleus from the garden center on Saturday. I just absolutely loved them. But I hardly know a thing about caring for them. Are these perennials? How do I take care of them?

    Thanks.

Here in Norway Coleus are house plants, but also used as summer plants outside. They can't take the frosts. Here's a link to a page on Wikipedia.

    They are annuals.

Some like full sun an some don't. You will need to find out which ones your have. They like lots of water to, here anyways an fertilize weekly. They root easily to an pinching them back will make them bushier.

I have to disagree Griphook as I've kept coleus plants for years and they've not died on me. In saying that they are houseplants here too as they would be killed off with out Scottish winters each year.

I bought a beautiful one last summer to set on my porch in the afternoon shade. The slugs loved it as much as I did!

You got that right Deanna...they are slug magnets!
But they can be beautiful and they can/do last more that a season if cared for properly. I bought one of the 'sun' coleous a few weeks ago. Up until now I have only had the shade loving type. ;)

I have 3 of them in the house, i don't dare put them out even in summer here. If the sun is being blocked by the house, it is cold in the shade, even in summer. I've had mine for 2 yrs now, and before that it was our Aunts and she had it a few yrs. I've since broke that one plant into 3.

I have several in a pot that gets full sun. lots of heat here in NC. They do fine if kept evenly moist and fed once in a while. Good luck!
