Here's my little room made from the arbor hubby made. The wisteria has never bloomed :-|, but worked great covering the top and side keeping this area in the shade and blocking it from the cars going by on the road behind it. All the hostas are due to the walnut tree located just to the right of the area shown. A willow tree is located to the left.

Very nice arbor! I have a similar area covered by wisteria, love to sit under it.

Your retreat is lovely! I'll show it to my husband and ask him pretty-please to make me one. Great idea.

What a great hide-a-way. All gardeners need some place like that to sit and observe the changes in the garden or just get away to.

Yes, a great space for you. I think I'd have to put a comfy chair there so I could curl up with a book. Thanks for sharing.

Oh now that's the ideal spot to while away a few hours. :stew1: My wisteria hasn't flowered either. :( How old is yours? Mine was fairly mature when I bought it three years ago. Maybe in another three it might actually bloom for me. :-?

It was planted in 2004, and was good sized at that time. I keep hoping it will bloom one of these years, but since I purchased the Japanese Wisteria, it could be 10 or more years I guess. Must be patient!

That is a really nice-looking retreat. I have been thinking and thinking about building one of those for the sitting patio. I just never seem to have the time to plan and construct it.
    Perhaps one winter.
Yours looks cool and serene. Well done, you.
