Here are the first blooms from the seedlings I started in February. The plants are already sending up new shoots, so it won't be long and I will have to find a home in the ground for them!
I love cannas of all colors, but I think I've found a new favorite.

Gorgeous blooms! Very Happy I'm amazed that they've managed to grow and bloom so fast.

I purchased the seeds from Park Seed. The packet was five seeds and all had germinated, but the puppy had eliminated two of them early spring.

I don't have much experience growing canna from seed, so I am wondering how true the seeds collected will bloom from these.

I have never grown Canna from seed but I will be ordering some seeds for this one and give it a try.
I think they will look really good planted with the Canna Tropicana I was given last summer.

Just a quick note on the seeds. They are very hard and round. I have a pair of nail clippers I use just for seed starting. You will need to nick it as you would morning glory seeds, soak overnight and then plant them. They sprout really quickly.

I totally agree with you Toni.....perfect compliment to the Tropicana!!

This white variety from Parks is 18" - 24" in height.
