There's nothing much going on out there, apart from the late spring flowers still at it, lots of aquilegia with fairly dull colours and some bushes, so I went for a trip. Mother's garden usually holds oodles of colours all through the season, and I was right.

It's azalea time:

And rhododendron time too. This is R. camtschaticum:

This is a white, small one that looks like R. camtschaticum, but I forgot to ask:

A couple of other minis:

Big ones:

Oxalis adenophylla:

Geranium:

New Zeeland edelweiss:

Meconopsis betonicifolia white:

The iris are starting, a sibirica:

A mass planting of Trollius, daisies and Centaurea:

Wonder where I can make space for a heap of those azalea?

Droopy if I found myself in your mums garden I'd want to live there!! What wonderful colours and so much in bloom. One day I hope my garden will look just like that but somehow I doubt it ever will.

Thank you Eileen. Laughing I lived there, and now I'm trying to create my own paradise. I haven't got the same dedication to my plants I'm afraid, so I guess we're two doubting our garden's future then.

I'm back to have another drool over all those wonderful plants. Do you know the name of the mini rhododendron with the purple outer petals and the red inner ones? I'm finding it very hard to resist the temptation to break into a garden centre NOW for one just like it. Razz

If it's the blueberry-coloured one with bell-like flowers you mean, it's a Rhododendron campylogonum. It's got a sister too, called R. campylogonum var. charopoeum:

They're pretty cool, the flowers look like they're modeled in wax.

They are all so stunning. I really like the rhodos and the azelias. They are out now here also. I don't have any space for them, but one day I will make some. All the others are pretty also, I've never seen anything like the New Zeeland edelweiss before, I like them. I like them all actually. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Biita. There are lots of colours of azaleas, the variety is amazing. These are the ones she found room for. Laughing

Thank you Sherry. I don't think I will tell her, she might get an overinflated ego. Laughing
