After further research, I've realized that my very damaging insect in my perennials aren't box elder nymphs, but some kind of leaf beetle. They are attacking all of my perennials now and I'm getting so upset over it. It's a very small red and black beetle, but I can't get a decent pic of them. They are destroying all of the new growth and budding flowers on my centaurea, asters, and other plants. Here's a pic of the damage. Can anyone please help me?
