Hi, this plant was given to me by a departing colleague. It's been growing for about 3 years. It sits in a very small ceramic pot, loves to be watered every day, hates Miracle Grow (almost killed it), and loves fluorescent lighting. It only puts out one leaf at a time, always growing upward.

It did put out something like 2 side "roots" from the main stem, but I was surprised to see something strange form at the end of the "roots" ... and they broke off. Don't have a photo of these things unfortunately.

Hoping someone can tell me what this plant is. Here are 3 pictures:

It looks a bit like Anthurium leaves to me, but I'm not very good at house plants.

Definately looks like an Anthurium to me too. The plant you've shown us is completely root bound in that little pot though - hence you have to water it daily. I would suggest that you repot it ASAP in a pot that it as least 8" across.
