With all this wet and cold weather that we've been having lately, not only the outside veg is a bit retarded...but the flowers as well.
So, I do not have alot to show at the moment, but here are a couple.
Here is a Verbascum nigra
Here a stand of Eremurus just beginning to flower.
A row of marigolds along the western border of the "Old Veggie Plot". I raised these little fellows from seed and they are still miniscule. At this stage I always wonder if they will ever get big. heh heh heh.
Oh well, the Lavender's doing ok.

The Verbascum is a beauty, the Foxtail Lily -Eremurus, is going to put on quite a show soon.
I have finally realized that my garden doesn't have enough variety, guess a trip to the garden center is in order soon.

Oh me, oh my...don't I wish we copuld go together. I never want to miss a trip to the garden center (especially with a fellow gardner).

Oh I wish I could come over and spend time with you going round garden centres Sjoerd. We'd have such fun!!!!  There's just no better way to spend your time - apart from being in the garden!! The only problem is that I get greedy where plants are concerned and just want to buy and buy.  Ian's wallet starts to have palpitations as soon as I go near anywhere that sells plants - don't know why!! 
Your lavender is way ahead of mine as mine is still in tight buds. I really like your Verbascum nigra and your Eremurus but the smell of lavender when you brush against it is THE BEST!!

Oh, I agree 100% Eileen...
Hee hee hee... poor Ian. I'll bet he must be as tough as nails by now with all those assaults that you have made on garden centres in the past. 
Ach...but with the way that yopu search and buy, you get the lowest pricesfor the best plants. So actually, you SAVE him money, right?  ROARRRRRRR
We may get to make those rounds one day...I can be ready at a moment's notice.
--addendum: Yes the smell of brushed-by lavender is heavenly...it's PART and parcel of a flower garden. That wonderful fragrence just...belongs.
--*...and: don't forget "Gardners' World" 8p.m. your time over there.

Sjoerd, your Verbascum nigra is wonderful and like Toni said your Eremurus will put on quite a show, I can't wait to see it in full bloom. Your marigolds are ahead of mine, at least you have a couple blooms. Mine are still in cups, but soon they'll go in the big pot in front of the porch steps. The lavender looks great too. I'll have one next year.
I like that pink one in the last pic., is that foxglove? And those little white ones are pretty too!
And I'd love to join all of you on your excursion. My DH's wallet does the same as Ian's Eileen. I even mention the garden center and he just gives the look. I'd love to shop with people who know way more than I do. I'd just pick up a couple of everything if I had my way.

I like your flowers. I also planted marigold by seed. some white ones. They haven't flowered yet though.
I really like your lavendar. I bought a plant of it this year. I'm hoping in my zone (4) that'll overwinter and come back for me next year. I really like the lavendar flowers from it. I'm new to this plant, so with that, does it just get bushy or will it spread out?

Hi Sjoerd;
Your plants are exotic. We are surrounded by Australian Pines, so our garden grows slowly too, but plants are healthy. I wish my garden was as big as yours. Soon I will run out of space, but it will always need replacements. I love the Lavender, min is small but bushy. Hoping to see some growth this year.
That trip to the nursery sounds wonderful. Wish I could go.

It would be tremendous to cut a swathe through Holland's garden centres wouldn't it...things would never be the same here. Ha ha ha. What fun that would be.
Yes 'T', that is indeed a foxglove. There were lots this year. I was pretty chuffed about that.

Your blooms are delightful! Ours have put themselves on hold now, there's new snow on the mountains.  So I'm glad I get to see everybody else's blooms.
I'd have loved to go plant shopping in Holland! I rarely buy a lot, since I'm pretty selective and always fall for fairly expensive stuff. Maybe I should send my husband. He's the one that goes off with a list of three to five plants and comes home with half a truckload. My back is making loud wincing noises just by the thought of it.

The trouble with me and garden centres is that I have champagne taste and a beer wallet.
Ach, the tribulations a gardner has to bear.
Poor thing...that back may need some heat applied. Chuckle. You have to get your back muscles in shape for planting, should he make such a trip.
