I'm a newbie so forgive me if I know so little but I have lots of sow, pill or rolly polly's in my garden Any advice? Are they going to hurt my tomatoes?

I don't know if they will hurt your toms or not, I had an infestation of those in my strawberry patch an used a cheap beer that got rid of them. Put some beer in a tuna can or something similar an they will go to it an drown. Slugs will also react this way. Or you can go to your local far supply an see what they have. Someone will come along soon with more advice I'm sure, we have a lot of experienced gardeners here.

Hiya SSheila,
I have loads of them in my gardens and I don't do anything about them, as they have never done anything harmful to my flowering plants or veggies.
There are several in the greenhouse where the toms are growing because of the moist compost that I have there, I suppose, and the comfry leaves that I have mulched the toms with.
They eat decaying leaves and other plant matter and of course deposit their dropping on the soil which just works out fine for me.
I notice that there are always some in the compost bins and I just let them do their thing there as well.
The bottom line (for me at any rate) is that they have not posed a threat to my tomatos or any other living plant that I have.

I am glad to know I can keep things natural. I am not fond of sprays etc. unless I have to use them. I never saw any harm done so I guess my rolly pollys and I can live harmoniously

Sow bugs and I get along fine .I don't bother them and they dont bother me.

Sow bugs process dead matter. They are not interested in live plants.

They sure were interested in my strawberries this year, lol. Ordinarily I wouldn't be trying to get rid of them but they were being greedy this year. Between them an the slugs I wasn't gonna get any kinda harvest.

Thanks again all. I am relieved they are harmless. Trudy I will be sure to get rid of them when I ever do plant strawberries. It's funny I hear you talking about slugs. It's just too dry I think here in CA for them...It's been only a couple of times in my life that I've seen a slug. I'm kinda glad they are creepy:) Are they good for a garden in any way?
