I know that we have a couple of members on here from Wisconsin and Illinois. I'm just wondering how the flooding is doing where you are. Sherry8, I've heard that Oshkosh is in rough shape. You keeping afloat?
I live between Madison and Milwaukee and it's pretty bad here. The westbound interstate has been closed for a week and is expected to remain closed for weeks or even months until the flood water recedes and the DOT can check for damage to the bridges. A small town nearby is closed to all nonemergency outside traffic.
Fortunately, although I live within 1/4 mile of a large lake, we have no major problems here. Our house is on a hill. My garden is pretty soggy though and we're expected to have record numbers of mosquitoes this year. Oh well, if that's all we can to deal with, we're pretty lucky.

My son lives in Oshkosh. He said they've had 11 inches of rain in the last week. The ditches were all full and the retention pond was full and water was running over his yard and driveway. That was on Friday and it was supposed to rain again on Saturday night or Sunday. He hasn't called since so I guess they are doing okay. dooley

We live primarily in Land O Lakes, where there was no flooding at all, and, we have kept our home in Mequon. We are in Mequon at this time, and our home here has faired pretty well, just a small amount of water in the basement. However, the Milwaukee River is just west of us, 1 mile or 2, and the folks over there are telling a different story. Thiensville was closed down the main street, and all the businesses and homes along there, were flooded. It’s a bit hilly here, and some folks can be flooded, and the guy next door is ok. We drove around where it was ok to go, looking at the river. It is amazing to see the river water level so high, the very fast flowing water in some cases just inches below the road level. Not to diminish the devastation experienced by so many unfortunate families, but the flooding is pretty much confined to the areas of the rivers and streams, and low lands, most of us are ok. The news people just show the worst of the bad stuff, of which there was a lot, but most of us faired pretty well.

Thank you Toni, there are many of us here counting our blessings. Everyone was subject to the intense wind and rain, it was much more than the rain gutters and down spouts were meant for, and they spilled over more water than they drained away. But here on the high ground, with in 4 or 5 hours, the above ground drainage (ditches and such) had drained most of the water away. Unfortunately though, it drained to the lower areas and the river. While owning a home along the river, or in those older communities has it’s charm and is desirable in many ways, we considered the high ground important, and at times such as this, are glad we did.

Well here in Quincy the riverfront it pretty much toast. They had to close one of the two bridges that connects us to Missouri because the water is over the bridge. Most of Quincy is up on a bluff, so a good portion of town is okay.
My in-laws have not fortunate. They live about 15 miles/24km from us on the Missouri side. Their house looks to be in fairly bad shape, from pictures we have seen (we are not allowed to go over, unless absolutely necessary). They have been on vacation in Nevada and Oregon since June 1st, but decided to try and rush home Monday. They should be home tonight. What a horrible thing to come home from vacation to.
So if it is as bad as it looks, we may be spending the next week or two helping them clean up, after the flooding recedes. It isn't supposed to crest (max out) until Friday June 20th (tomorrow).

Yea I am hoping that also...they are retired and on somewhat of a limited income. Replacing everything is going not going to be good, if it comes down to that.

Well ladies and gentlemen....my in-laws house is fine!
We went out there tonight to check on it and they got a little bit of water in their garage, but that was it. The water never got into the house! We are really happy about that and went out to dinner to celebrate hehe. 
Unfortunately their neighbor's house completely flooded...it looks like they ended up with about a foot of water or so in their house.
