It has been 100+ the last week here in Buda. Thank goodness for heat and drought tolerant plants.
Here are a couple shots from this morning.
Green Hulk Aster grown from seed. It almost looks like a flower with no petals!

Dwarf Pink Canna I got for a $2 steal!

Replanted this pot with grasses, potato vine and dwarf red cannas.

And of course the boys see me get the camera and they are ready to pose!

Your plants look three times better than mine. The Texas heat is getting to them really bad here Buda.
Your boys are so handsome.

Thank Glendann. I have just been hand watering daily. Travis county has a ban on watering, but it has not yet taken affect in Hays county. I am sure it won't be long.

All of my tomato plants, cucumber plants and herbs in the backyard bit the dust already. But we did enjoy a good harvest from all of them. It has just been miserable.

My garden has almost all died.I am still getting a few cream peas and blackeyes and tomatoes, but everything else has just about bit the dust.My melons I think are all but dead.I water daily but it seems like the next morning my plants are so wilted. We have a very deep well here but we are under a burn ban here.

Buda, your'boys' are too cute. What are their names?
I have three big planters of the red grass (that's what I call it), but never thought about putting anything else with it. That is really nice looking.

Thanks Kuntrygal. The boys names are Klaus (white mini schnauzer, 6 months old) and Schultze (S&P, 7 years old).

The planter has Sedge Grass, Tradescantia, Sedum Kamtschaticum, Blackie Sweet Potato vine and Tropical Red Dwarf Canna with the Purple Fountain Grass. I purchase all of them at Home Depot.

I love that Green Hulk! And your planter arrangement. And of course your lovely boys. Very Happy I'll trade you about 4 inches of rain for about 10 deg C/50 deg F. We've got far too much rain and far too low temps here.

Droopy the seeds for Green Hulk where from Park Seed. Really one of the easiest plants I've grown from seed.

Your planter is a stunner. I dont know how you all take that heat down there. I made the mistake of driving to Texas one August..never again. I'll only go to Texas in January : )
