This plant is either a marrow, a courgette or a melon. It could be a cucumber!Does anyone know which, please? Thanks in advance.

Could be yellow squash or what we call summer squash over here. The leaves look very similar...in a few days you should see the veg appear at the base of the flower.

Squash, I think. Delicious sauteed in butter. Looking forward to mine.

Could be! I got some assorted plants at a show, then mixed then up without the labels.I originally thought it was a melon and planted it in the greenhouse. It may grow mad in there! Sauteed though, with garlic...MMM!

Definitely squash, probably zucchini. Only because it looks so similar to my plant last year: did you happen to fertilize it? I planted my squash in soil that was too rich and they grew huge, beautiful leaves like that, but most of the fruit was lost to blossom end rot from the nitrogen overload.
But maybe it's just the picture that makes the leaves look so big.

I deliberately planted it onto a little pile of rotted manure because I thought it was a melon. And yes, the leaves are indeed huge!

Work in some bonemeal around it. I poke holes with a stick near the roots and push it into the holes if it's an already established plant. It takes a while, but helps.

All has been revealed as to the identity of the 'mystery plant'...it's a marrow!

It's now been cut and I shall saute it with a wee bit of garlic and some black pepper, to make a (hopefully) tasty treat![/img]
