I went to visit a woman I admire a lot yesterday. Here she is:

She's got so many plants in her garden it's hard to grasp. Here are a couple of teasers:

Notholirion:

Iris germanica:

Meconopsis:

I've made a couple of slide shows and put in my blog, in case somebody would like to experience a small sample of what can be grown in a corner of Norway. Droopy's Blog.

Love the first two. They are beautiful. I guess I would like a pile of dirt if it were shades of purple. Rolling Eyes

Thanks, Eileen, drool as much as you like!

*note to self: send kuntrygal a purple pile of dirt for Christmas* There are lots of purples and blues in that garden, you'd love it!

That must be just amazing to stroll through her garden. You've put together some beautiful slid-shows. It made my day - thank you.

I love to visit with older people who have gardens and see what they've accomplished over the years. I've moved so many times I often wonder what happened to things I've planted. She has a wonderful garden. dooley

She has that, dooley. Somehow I can't see myself hopping about like she does when I'm 75, but I can wish. I hope the plants you left behind are happy and give the new owners pleasure.

So wonderful and to think of all that work over the years. Man I hope I can still garden at 75. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Palm Tree. She claims her garden's got a boring spell at the moment. Laughing I've been there earlier and later, and can say that she's right about that. Unbelieveable, but true.

That is a nice picture of your friend and the Iris germanica is a real beauty.
I'll bet you had a really special time. I looked with enormous pleasure at your two slide shows.
My goodness wjhat a collection of flowers she has! And she has done quite a job of landscaping and arranging.
It's all just so impressive. Thanks for showing all the pics.

We had a lovely time, Sjoerd. We always do, and it's so hard to leave! Fortunately we bring home some goodies from her garden, and those will tide us over until the next visit. Very Happy
