Yummy! I like them hot, served on top of some ice cream. But I thought those were blackberries? Our blueberries are ripening now, and they are so big and juicy because of all the rain too. Very Happy

These are wild black raspberrys. They are smaller than the cultivated berrys but a bit of a stronger taste.

I feel a pie in the makings after supper. What could say summer more than warm berry pie with vanilla ice cream on it? Yummy!

Whatever kind of berries they are, that pie looks delicious. And I suppose you had the ice cream handy!

Mmmmm.... my dad always called those blackcaps and we spent hours along country roads picking those. I wish I knew where to find a nice grove of them these days. They do make the tastiest pies. Yours looks delicious.

Out of my 3 acres of land, I only mow about an acre. I just let the rest grow up. There are a couple of areas where the berries grow right up to the yard. I can't do a lot of walking so I rode the lawn tractor around the edge of the yard and drive and then would get off and pick. There were a couple of places where I didn't even have to get off the the tractor. The pie is delicious, I had a piece with ice cream last night for a snack. But it raised havoc with my blood sugar this morning. The next one I will use Splenda in it! But man it was worth it. That's the first fresh berry pie I have had in 20 years. And you can't get much fresher than that!

Yum! Berry pies are the best, all sticky and sweet, yet sharp. Mmmmm!
