I retired and moved to IL from central CA last year. Oh the green - WOW!!! So different from the desert.
My 3 acres gave me a clean palet so I have been creating both flower and vegetable gardens around my wee home. I'm in love with perennials and daylilies. Already this summer I've collected over 75 different daylilies from various farms and shops. I'll not say how many perennials I've already put in as well as laying down hardscaping for many of the gardens.
In my spare time, I raise and train miniature horses, so I am a busy ol' lady.
I look forward to learning about gardening in the midwest.

Hello and welcome Kolorbroker, from the Norwegian Arctic. Isn't it wonderful to have all that land to just play with and get your hands nice and dirty!!
Minature horses,,wow, thats awesome. I would love to see pics of the horses. We have lots of people from the Midwest so they will help you out, and we have some horse fans also,,,,you fit right in!!

Welcome to our forums from West Lothian in Scotland. I, too, would love to see some photographs of your garden and your miniature horses. It sounds as though you lead a very full life even although you've retired.

Hello from Wisconsin...glad you made your way from California...It is so heartbreaking to see all that destruction from the fires...I love daylilies too...I can't wait to see all the pictures of your many types...I moved from 3 acres so my beds are downsized...Sherry8

Warm welcome to you from mid-Norway!  You've got a lot of space to play on, please let's have a look at your borders and all those day lilies! And the mini-horses too, I'm very fond of horses. Are they falabella ones?

Interesting name you chose. I know you will find that the Stew is a great place to be and I cannot wait to read your posts.
I envy your space 3 acres - WOW. ANd you do sound very busy. flower and veggie gardens, horses, hard landscaping - please show us some piccies?
