The Edelweiss has opened up. They're grey and funny-looking, good for dried flowers and I just plain like them:
The mini-Scabiosa. We nearly lost it for some reason this spring, but it's bouncing back:
That little Sisyrinchium:
Some kind of Centaurea:
The Lewisia are great garden plants. They bloom, we dead head, they bloom again:
What we call the Carnation Rose, probably a Rosa rugosa ’F.J. Grootendorst':
The northernmost border, it's all shade and the small hearts love it in there:
Lilies anybody? They've started in earnest now. This is "Dove of Peace":
Lilium 'Provinciete':
A peach one we thought we had lost several years ago, and chucked the name tag away  :
Can't remember the name of this one either:
This is "Teutas Fronte":
And this is "Valse Triste":
I've struggled for an eternety to get a close-up of that lily, but they just end up all wrong.
We've got Primula too. The P. vialii:
Yellow P. florindae:
Orange P. florindae:
This has dark red, bell-like flowers. I like it:
Summer is the best time there is, as long as the temps are good.

What a variety of colors. I like your little shade garden (7th pict). Is that a walkway in back of the valse triste? how beautiful.

Thanks petunia. The shade garden is slowly becoming a little woodland garden. We have a plan. Yes, it's a walkway that looks as though it's been planned when drunk and made when hung over.  We need to do something with it in the near future.

Very nice!! You are really getting alot of color now. Glad the temps are holding out for you,,,they are here,,,but now its getting to dry. Your drunken garden looks just fine to me,,,lol, i would keep it and let others raise an eyebrow, let em think,,lol.

Drunken garden?? My whole garden looks just like that!! I love all the colour you have in your garden and the lilies are really gorgeous. All my plants are getting flattened by the rain so it's really good to see everything blooming so well in yours Droopy.

Thanks all. The garden isn't too bad, but the walkway is. I get seasick when I walk on it. The people in the south-east of Norway had a terrible thunder storm yesterday. The streets in Oslo were flooded, and the manhole lids popped up due to the strong water pressure from underneath. I'm glad I live in the country.

Now I am loving that Edleweiss. I guess I could grow it over here in the UK. Just wonder where I would get it from?! And those dark lilies are just as sexy as can be! So much colour all at the same time. Devine.

Well, the moment I opened this thread, I saw that first piccy and started quietly singing, "Edelweiss, Edelweiss....... 
heh heh heh...all kidding aside, these pics show a great variety of colour and plant sort. I loike the looks of that northern border.
Your lilly collection really is exciting. The Dwarf Scabiosa looks like mine this year. They are so small and measly...but the flowers are quite lovely.
The Lewisia is certainaly looking particularly attractive.
It's great to see this group of remarkable fotos, Droopy...thanks a mil.

Thank you! EJ, I should think you'd find it easily, with all the nurseries you've got in UK. Yes, I'm a tad envious.  I'm very fond of lilies, but I'm not very fond of fighting the lily beetles. They're horrible.
So many of our plants are small and won't bloom for us this year. They've gotten the same care as every year, so it's probably a weather thing I hope.

Man I am envious - you sure have a lovely collection of flowers - a lot of them (Like the Edelweiss for example) is the first time I see and I must just add that I love the Stew for facilitating such a wonderful experience. Thanks for posting these pictures Droopy. I do appreciate it very much.

Thank you Palm Tree. I like to see what other gardeners grow too. Even though I can't grow it myself it's fun to see nonetheless. The Edelweiss is Swiss, and my father's buried in Switzerland, so it's a connection of some sort.

Thanks Netty. They're alpines, and do well as long as they get the proper soil. The first one I had was planted in too rich dirt, so it disappeared.
