I hope you'll be able to find some seed somewhere. It looks like an interesting plant. But I found a site carrying a warning:

Pregnant and lactating women is to avoid the plant. Children too. 20-50% of the Japanese working with the plant will get rashes on their hands, so avoid bare skin contact. Chinese herbal medicine take great care not to give this plant to people who perspirate a lot or have sufferings with "moist heat", whatever that implies.

Sounds like a plant one should be careful with.

I think they are supposed to fall off, a few at a time. When we had one, the oldest leaves wilted and fell off after some time, but there were always new ones forming on top. I managed to kill the poor thing by over-watering it in the end.

Dropping leaves can be from overwatering, underwatering, too little sun, too much sun.

And since you mention that you just repotted it, that could be the problem too. Plants go into shock when they are repotted or transplanted, they wilt/drop leaves while the roots are recooperating from the move.
If you follow the info on that website about location and watering, when the roots are have adjusted to their new home the plant should start putting out new leaves and be just fine.

That website does say they need full sun, so I would take it out of the bathroom and put it outside in the sun.
I am not sure but watering from the bottom like that might cause root rot from too much water, especially since it is not getting the sun it needs.

That website info also states that letting the top of the soil dry somewhat between waterings works well so you might try that. Stick you finger into the soil and if it is dry down to the first knuckle then water a little but don't flood it.
