You can download an offline version by going to the following link http://www.bbc.co.uk/gardening/design/virtualgarden_index.shtml
It's a 6.6Mb download...7.9 for Mac-OS Classic. It's called "Virtural Garden".

I hope that this is something like what you are looking for.

To be very true, I think there will not be a single such software but I am amazed to see that. Perhaps we are going to have everything virtual on this planet in near future.
