Well I think everyone knows we are so, so, slow to get started up this way, but once we can starting planting, were off to the races here.
After dinner late last night, KB and I went for a walk to the other fields to check on the potatoes and strawberries,,,,Ohhh they are looking good, remember i just planted all these potatoes not to long ago, and the strawberries were just showing signs of life less than a month ago.
Mandle Potatoes or Almond Potatoes, I give them another month or less and we have a new harvest.
And the strawberries are doing really good, so i think its time for the netting to go up. A few of these didn't make it out of the garden,,lol.
another week and i'll be busy making jam and freezing for winter use! If they make it to the kitchen that is.

Things have ceretainly come on in leaps and bounds for you Biita. It looks as though you're going to have bumper crops of potatoes.

Looks mighty good, Biita!
The first regional strawberries hit the shops this week. I'm off to buy some, and our goal is to get them all the way home. The shop's a 5-minute drive away.

Thanks all,, I should have alot of potatoes but then half of what i harvest goes to a few of the elderly neighbors we have, including uncle. The rest i store in the cold cellar, and if anyone runs out, they know where to come and help themselves.
Ohh Droopy, after getting my first taste of fresh strawberries here, i don't know if i can wait another week. Let alone wait 5 minutes,,, maybe you better buy some for the ride, and some for home,,,lol.

24 hours of daylight sure makes a difference in how quickly things grow, they all look so great.
I am always sure that all the strawberries I buy at the store or farmers market will make it home. They are shipped in from California and/or Florida and have probably been sprayed with who-knows-what so they have to be washed well first.
Yet another reason to grow my own next year.
