Beautiful roses. What is the name of the first one, I really like that one.
We have butterflies but it is too hot now for me to be outside watching them so I watch from the back window. But I don't think we have as many yet as we did last summer.

Lovely roses! I like the colour of the first one, and the incredible fullness of the last one. Red is one of my favourite colours. We haven't got many butterflies yet either.

Thanks everyone,
I'll have to check for the name of the roses, I planted them so long ago that I forget what kind they are. The poppy I got the seeds from a trade, so I'm not sure of the name either.
I guess I should pay more attention to names.... I just plant sometimes and if I don't like the plant after it flowers, I just pull it out.
I have a whole garden, separate from my flower beds to experiment with.
DH used to do a vegetable garden, but he's too busy for taking care of it. He now flies remote controlled airplanes and has a blast.
So he subsidizes my gardening hobby. That way I'm not spending as much money on flats of flowers, I do alot of seed swapping, so I get a variety of flowers......
Here's my experimental garden.

and some of the things in it.
P.S. Do any of you know what the purple flower is in the last photo?

Your experimental garden is beautiful! What purple flower? Need a close-up. And while you're at it, some close-ups of the rest of those blooms in there.

Your gardens and flowers are great...I haven't seen too many butterflies this year. So far I see what we call sulphurs (white and then yellow ones) and I think it was a Monarch or viceroy twice. I think I had seen more previous years ...bees I have.

I'm still waiting for the butterflies to show up, I saw a hummingbird twice but not long enough to get any photos.....one of these days I'll be at the right place at the right time.lol
Here's a few more photos... I'll try to include close-ups..
I planted tons of zinnias this year
DH even planted a few tomatoes this year...... I'm glad they're in the garden as last year he planted them in my flower bed and I had bugs everywhere.....yuck! lol

Hi Kratz7;
Your gardens are fantastic and those roses incredible. We have dozens of butterflies, but I have a giant Buddlea in my yard - they're crazy for it!!
