This is interesting. I said the following here about the Little Mermaid in Copenhagen...

It certainly seems like a good idea to move the little mermaid. Why do some people find it funny to damage wonderful sculptures like this one?

I remember fifty years ago, someone knocked off her head. I was soooo mad! But I was told at that time that this had been happening to her for several years.
