A couple of years ago, my wife planted some stock and this is the best it has ever looked.

Smells like a bottle of perfume! You can smell it from about 10 ft away.

I love stock in the garden and MUST have night scented stock every year without fail. Its scent is strongest around 8pm just when you want to sit and relax in the garden - perfect!!

Are stock the same as Phlox? They look similar and very pretty.

It is a beautiful thing, isn't it?
I believe that stocks alsi have flowers growiong out from a central syem sort of like a Delphenium. |
You are very right. The leaves and flowers of the stock as also a bit velvety. Here is the best picture I could find of stock. It is the white flowers. All the flowers grow right on in stem.
I have the pink and white flowers growing here and it is definately phlox.
