my tomato seeds sprouted and I have a 3" tall seedling now. But isn't it too late for it to grow, and give fruit? I had given up on them.
Guess the crazy Seattle weather can't be trusted.

Yes. In general the US summers area bit short for growing tomatoes from seed but not impossible. If you started them directly in the ground it will not be likely that they will be able to bear fruit by the summer’s end. Tomatoes enjoy heat so, if early fall ends up being warmer in your area, they may still have a chance. If not, you could transplant them at this point into containers and complete the growing cycle indoors. If you have a greenhouse , that is even better yet. We have great success growing tomatoes in a greenhouse or even in our heated sunroom. Next year you may want to consider starting your seeds indoors around March or April and then transplant to your garden after the last frost in the spring.
